Summer School of Assisi 2017, "Art and Faith: along ‘the Way’"
Back again this summer, the Summer School of Assisi is an initiative organized in collaboration with the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. The event will take place from the 27th to the 31st of August 2017 at the Papal Basilica and the Sacro Convento of St. Francis in Assisi.
The Summer School is a unique, formative experience: by means of lectures, seminars, workshops, guided tours, and field trips, participants will be provided the opportunity to experience art and discover the significance of one of the most striking places in Italy: the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi.
This 2017 Summer School of Assisi "Art and Faith" is the event’s fifth occurrence. This year the event intends to explore the theme of the human journey as a metaphor for the relationship between man and God. Not only is human life a continuous journey, but also artistic creativity and faith itself, in their profound search for beauty and truth, are experiences of journey that reflect that which is human along the pathways of history.
The Summer School is aimed primarily at undergraduates and graduate students in the humanities, specializing in the history of art, as well as teachers and professionals in the historical-artistic sector. The Summer School is part of the teacher training and updating program carried out by the University and recognized by ‘L’Amministrazione scolastica’, according to current legislation.
Registration for the Summer School will close on June 30, 2017. They must be sent to:
Catholic University of the Sacred Heart - Ongoing Formation - Via Carducci 30 - 20123 Milan
