Assisi celebrate his Saints St Clare of Assisi virgin St Ruffin bishop
The city of Assisi is ready to celebrate the solemnity of two other Saints, children of this Umbrian land: St Clare and St Rufino respectively on August the 11 and 12.
Santa Chiara's Day: The Novena begins on August 2nd and ends on the 9th.
It will be celebrate every evening at 18.00 during the prayer of the Vespers, animated by the Sisters of the Proto-monastery.
Leading the meditations in preparation for this year's festival, will be:
p. Raffaele Di Muro OFMConv teacher of Spiritual Theology at the Pontifical faculties St Bonaventure, Theresianum, in Rome and International President: Militia of the Immaculate and
p. Alfredo Avallone OFMConv Master of Novices of the Minor Conventuals Friars of the Sacred Convent and spiritual assistant of the Seraphic Institute of Assisi, for children and teenagers with physical, mental and sensory disabilities.
The festival begins with the first Vespers and the holy Mass, which will be celebrate on August 10th at 17.30 pm and will be presided by the Bishop of Assisi - Nocera Umbra - Gualdo Tadino Mons. Domenico Sorrentino.
The Mass of Solemnity will be celebrate on August 11th at 11 am in the Basilica of St Clare [Link: http://www.assisisantachiara.it/] and presided by
Card. Gualtiero Bassetti, president of the Italian Episcopal Conference and archbishop of Perugia - Città della Pieve.
Feast of San Rufino; the celebrations concern the city of Assisi and the diocese, begin on Friday August 11th at 9 pm with the vigil prayer in honor of the saint and the procession, for the streets of Assisi.
In the Council Square, the Bishop Sorrento will be bless the city. There will also be the music band of Rivotorto and will follow a party in the square outside the cathedral.
Saturday, August 12nd at 11 am in the Cathedral of Assisi, the solemn Mass presided by Bishop Domenico Sorrentino is celebrated.
