"We do not love in words but with facts." World Day for the Poor
On Sunday, November 19, 2017, the Diocese of Assisi–Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino celebrated the First World Day of the Poor, entitled, "We do not love in words, but with facts". The day was called for by Pope Francis at the end of the Jubilee Year of Mercy. Organized by the diocesan office of Caritas, it consisted of a full program. Mass began the day in the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, the Bishop, Monsignor Domenico Sorrentino presiding.Testimonies were given by the parishioners of Santa Maria degli Angeli.

"The diocesan commission involved in the preparation of this day has devised various initiatives to promote and realize these goals, such as the "Orti solidali" project, which provides for the creation of appropriate local organizations able to respond to some of the needs of the territory..
