Evening Prayer in the Lower Basilica
The Evening Prayer of the Friars which those of you who live near the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi are invited to attend, is divided into two parts: first there is the celebration of Evening Pray followed by a time for listening and meditating on the Word of God on Monday and Tuesday.
On Wednesday the Friars living at the Sacred Convent have community meetings: time for on-going formation, retreats, chapters and there is no prayer in the Basilica.
The celebrations on Thursday, Friday and Saturday recall the Triduum of Holy Week and presents a "time and place" for recalling the spiritual experiences of St. Francis of Assisi, as the Friars and all the Faithful can relive the mystery of the love of Christ as the Church every year it relives it in the Paschal Triduum.
