One of the next restorations that must be undertaken is that of the stone spur that supports the structure of the Sacro Convento. Located outside, it has been exposed for centuries to all atmospheric agents, causing deposits and very evident black and hard crusts on its surface; likewise there can be found patches of infesting plants and damage caused by the frost/thaw cycle. The restoration work will be performed by highly specialized personnel, given the particular historical-artistic value of the building, which should be treated in the same way as the other stone surfaces of the Basilica complex and with which it forms a harmonious monumental unit.
